Meetings with Banks, Suppliers and Shareholders

We carefully prepare meetings with banks, suppliers and shareholders and, if desired, accompany you in person.

Trust through transparency

Banks, suppliers and shareholders usually notice a crisis earlier than management assumes – for instance from account movements, payment delays or missing reports. Those who then remain silent or gloss over the situation lose trust. Those who instead appear openly, prepared and with a plan considerably improve their starting position.

The basis of every meeting is reliable figures: a comprehensible situation assessment, up-to-date liquidity planning and an action plan showing how the company will get back on course.

Meetings with banks

In a crisis, credit institutions above all expect clarity about the situation, the causes and the planned measures. We prepare the documents so that they meet the customary requirements of banks, and we explain plans and assumptions in the meeting. Financing decisions are made by the bank; we do not broker loans.

Meetings with suppliers

Key suppliers generally have their own interest in the continued existence of their customer. With good preparation, solutions can often be found, such as adjusted payment terms, instalment payments or changed delivery arrangements. We help you set priorities and prepare the meetings with clear proposals.

Meetings with shareholders

In a crisis, shareholders frequently have to make decisions, for instance on additional funds, subordination agreements, strategic realignment or changes in personnel. We present the business fundamentals and show the consequences of different options for action. The corporate and tax law structuring is undertaken by lawyers and tax advisers.

  • Preparation of situation assessment, liquidity planning and action plan
  • Agreement on the objectives of the meetings and the order in which they take place
  • Preparation for typical follow-up questions
  • personal accompaniment and follow-up with minutes of the agreements reached

Do not forget customers and employees

In addition to providers of capital and suppliers, customers and employees also deserve attention. Rumours of a crisis can cost orders and prompt key people to leave. Coordinated, objective communication helps to limit uncertainty. We support you in sensibly determining messages, timing and recipients.

Frequently asked questions

Should I inform my bank early?

From a business perspective, early, prepared information is usually advantageous because it creates trust. In addition, check with your advisers which information obligations arise from your loan agreements.

Do you negotiate with creditors on my behalf?

We prepare meetings and accompany you. Legally binding agreements, in particular settlements with creditors, should be reviewed by a lawyer.

What is a subordination agreement (Rangrücktritt)?

An agreement by which a creditor, often a shareholder, declares that their claim ranks behind those of other creditors. Its structuring is a legal matter and belongs in the hands of a lawyer.
